The Drunken Boxist By Sushmita Malakar

I have been obsessed with crafts and gift-giving.

For me, the joy of giving gifts is more than receiving them. Gift wrapping gives me the ultimate pleasure. And the look on the receiver’s face while they unwrap a present is probably the reason for my contentment. I am not exaggerating.

But sustainability is a rising concern. Gift boxes and wrapping paper are mostly not reusable. They are certainly recyclable. But does that give value for money? And this quest made me explore other alternatives.

Many things answered my question. For example, as compared to plastic, canvas bags are reusable, biodegradable and environment friendly. One canvas bag can replace 400 single-use plastic bags in a year.

And that is how my brainchild, The Drunken Boxist, came into existence. I started making reusable gift bags, beautiful wall arts and papercrafts to start off with.
