Monday Motivation | Happy Random Acts of Kindness Day

While we ponder over the fact that the world has become rude and mean today, we often forget that change begins from within. If you expect kindness, spread kindness. And I kid you not, you will receive it, amplified! Random acts of kindness are the best way to light up someone’s day. And it brightens up your day, in return.

And today is definitely a great day to start. Being kind and spreading kindness should never be limited to just one day. Start small – from today onwards – and make it a habit.

National random acts of kindness day is celebrated on the 17th day of February every year. It is a great day to spread joy and positivity all around you.

No act is small.

Even smiling at a stranger counts. Maybe the stranger is having a bad day and your smile just helped him cheer up – even if for a moment!

Kindness literally changes people.

Giving and receiving kindness make you a much happier person.

Kindness is inclusive.

You can not be choosy when you want to sprinkle some kindness around. Excluding any demographic is being unkind.

There is no price for kindness.

I might not be able to afford to pay for someone’s grocery today but I can certainly buy someone a coffee. And it matters!

Kindness is a language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see

Mark Twain

So, what can you do to start practising kindness? Here are a few things – but remember that everything you do counts!

Random Acts of Kindness

I posted a story on Instagram today. It was all about the random acts of kindness you can do. One of them said, “Say hello to a friend you haven’t talked to in a while.” While I messaged a few of my friends, the number of hellos I received was overwhelming. We all want to make this world a better place, so why not start trying from today?

Have a great week ahead!
