I am caught up between laughing fits and pure sympathy for this variety of human species. They are quiet handful in number – more than 10 million worldwide – who watch this show, which doesn’t make sense to me at all, called the Game of Thrones.
Okay, I don’t want to sound cool here by being a non-follower of some new age fad. I just don’t understand the over doing of it!

Ever since Game of Thrones fever has caught up, Monday mornings at work are even more torturous. Earlier, it was just being clueless about the work that was supposed to kick off on the start of the week. Now it is about that plus being clueless about the mindless cafeteria discussion and a flooded timeline on Twitter with some random characters floating around that are just gibberish.

And what surprises me more is the fact that these are the same people who condemned Harry Potter saying a stupid piece of fiction! Yeah, right! Like there is going to be a hot Khaleesi lurking around among you guys!
Now, don’t call me a hypocrite. Yes, I am a Potterhead. I loved it when I was supposed and then I moved on.
Having not seen even a single minute of GoT (and having successfully invested that time of mine in doing everything way more constructive), I sometimes feel that we all define our own pop culture. I don’t get any of the memes and I am not ashamed of admitting it! I am too old for fancy fiction and too logical and dignified for such sexual violence.

Every new season sees the same numerous winter is coming posts,  I am sitting here and wondering if the other seasons are going to take offence for not welcoming them!

Trust me it is hard to pretend to not to be listening to the GoT jokes. There is so much more to talk about!
I so want to know the history scores in high school of every GoT fan. It’s fascinating how they remember every name and their dynasty and everything about each and every character of the show.

Also, Jon Snow is not the hottest man. Look around, please!
So much of hatred! I have so much more. The hatred is not for the show per se but for the unnecessary attention that it gets!

After being pursued for the 15678th time, I tried watching the first episode and five minutes into it, I knew that this is something I can never watch.  The only thing I am going to say in conclusion is that I have never seen Game of Thrones and probably, I never will!

  1. yar dekh le ek baar please, soch le exam hai kal uske lie padhna hai, zabardasti…
I too had to drag myself on in the first episode. That happens with all series, you need to get familiar with the characters in order to immerse yourself in their world.
    Thoda chance dede behen…

See, I am so glad that I am not alone! 😀
Even I don't get the horrific dialect – so I decided I would rather learn french! 😀

I am so glad you liked the post and it gave you a good time 🙂

  3. Hahah Sush…I had a good laugh while reading your post. This holds so true for me. I cannot stand GOT and I dont get the logic of so much violence/nudity/absurd politics. My husband finished watching all seasons in one week and now he bullies me for being unaware of the show. Winter is coming, HODOR and more crap memes don't make sense to me. I have no clue why do people adore GOT so much. I could not grasp a single minute of any series. Enjoyed your post. 🙂
