For the love for Whiskey!

Whiskey has no season! And whiskey has no reason. But sometimes, the nude whiskey is not what you want. And exactly this want of mine forced me to go on a quest of understanding and experimenting with this wonderful elixir called whiskey.

A rough day at work or maybe just a hard night to deal with, these refreshing drinks will surely lift up your mood and enjoy whiskey even more.

And with this, I wish you a happy weekend! 😉

Strawberry Whiskey Sour

You will need :

30ml Whiskey
2 fresh strawberries
1 Tablespoon Lime juice
4 Tablespoon simple syrup
Soda Water
Ice cubes

Blend the strawberries to make a perfect paste. Add lime juice and simple syrup to the blend.  Mix well and add to the whiskey. Add ice and top with soda water.

Tip: You make the simple syrup by boiling sugar and water together till all the sugar dissolves. However, never use hot syrup for making the cocktail. For this particular cocktail, you can also use the ready-to-drink strawberry crush available in the market. When using that, don’t add any simple syrup to it. You can use bourbon or rye as well.

Oranges and JD

You will need :
30 ml JD
60ml orange juice
2 Tablespoon sugar
Ice cubes

Heat the orange juice with sugar on low flame till the sugar dissolves. Let the mixture cool and then add this to the whiskey. Add some ice cubes and you have the simplest whiskey cocktail.
Tip: DO NOT use sugar if your orange juice is sweet. As the name suggests, Jack Daniels is the star of this cocktail.
Whiskey Tango

You will need:
30ml Whiskey
60ml Mango Juice
1 Tablespoon sugar
Ice Cubes
Soda Water

Mix the sugar with the mango juice. Add this mixture to the whiskey, add ice cubes and top with soda water.
Tip: Just enjoy the tangy flavour of mango with your favourite scotch whiskey.

Aam Panna Cocktail

This is the perfect desi cocktail for the summers.

You will need:
30 ml of Whiskey
60ml Aam Panna
1 Tablespoon Lime juice
Ice cubes
Soda water

Mix the aam panna and lime juice. Add whiskey and ice cubes. Stir well.
Tip: You can shake this drink in a cocktail shaker. Also, add simple syrup if you want. This drink tastes best with bourbon.
Sangria Whiskey Sour

Now, this one is probably the best and thus I saved it for the last.  Of course, this is the perfect one to get sloshed!

You will need:
30 ml of whiskey
45 ml red wine
Lemon slice
1 tablespoon simple syrup

Mix all the ingredients and stir well. Put some ice cubes and you have one of the best sangaree!
Tip: You can muddle and strain a few cherries to give that sweet flavour to this drink.
That is all that I have from my cocktail recipe books. New cocktail ideas are certainly welcomed!
